The Indian River County Fire Department goal is to provide prompt, skillful, and cost-effective fire protection and life safety service to protect the lives, the environment, and the property of the residents of Indian River County. The fire division responds to structure fires, automobile fires, emergency medical incidents and special operation incidents every year. Our response times, personnel staffing, equipment, and training contribute to a lower Insurance Services Organization (ISO) rating. This rating directly affects commercial fire insurance rates.
